389 new local cases over long holiday weekend

Statewide — The Indiana State Department of Health has reported that 17,592 additional Hoosiers have been diagnosed with COVID-19 since Christmas Eve. A total of 493,841 Indiana residents have tested positive for the coronavirus. To date, 2,600,211individual tests have been reported to ISDH at a 19.0% positive rate and 190 new deaths were reported for a total of 7,496 Hoosiers have died across the state.

Dearborn County has a total of 3,682 cases and 40 deaths reported (up 170 new cases), Decatur County has a total of 2,042 positive cases and 67 deaths (up 71 new cases and 2 new deaths), Franklin County has 1,149 positive cases and 28 deaths (up 44 new cases), and Ripley County has 2,388 positive cases and 39 deaths (up 104 new cases). Locally, this is an increase of 389 new positive cases and 2 new deaths.
