Francis Lee Ramey, 68, of Versailles passed away Sunday, December 20, 2020 at his residence with his loving family by his side. He was born to Lester and Dane (Ketterer) Ramey in Ohio on Monday, January 7, 1952. He married Brenda (Rohrig) Ramey in 1992. Francis worked at Oxbow, Inc. in Aurora as a general laborer. He was a member of NMLA, enjoyed motorcycling, loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren, and enjoyed camping.
Francis is survived by his wife Brenda of Versailles; sons Francis Ramey Jr. (Melissa) of Moores Hill and Gary Fischer (Emily) of Patriot; daughter Amber Walker (Jason) of Dillsboro; brothers Bill Ramey and Butch Ramey (Debbie) all of Tennessee, and Keith Ramey of Ohio; sister-in-law Darlene Grubb of Versailles; seven grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. Francis was preceded in death by his parents, Lester and Dane, brother Kevin Ramey, sister Sis Ramey, sister-in-law Bonnie Ramey, and brother-in-law Richard Grubb.
Family and friends may gather to share and remember Francis from 4 – 5 PM Saturday, December 26, 2020 at Filter-DeVries-Moore Funeral Home in Dillsboro. A memorial service will be held at 5 PM Saturday also at the funeral home with Pastor Tom Holt officiating. Memorials may be given in honor of Francis to the American Cancer Society.
