Statewide — The Indiana State Department of Health reports that influenza season is heard, despite the mandates for citizens to mask up due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Influenza tracking runs from October through March in the state of Indiana.
As of the week of November 21, the influenza prevalence rate is 1.73% for the state overall and 2.81% for District 9 which covers Ripley, Franklin, Decatur, and Dearborn Counties as well as a few others. This is an overall increase from the previous week which was at 1.63% for the State. There has been 1 death linked to influenza so far this season.
