Record high state COVID-19 positive cases for second day

Statewide — The State has once again hit the highest daily total of positive results across the state since the start of the pandemic.

The Indiana State Department of Health has reported that 6,654 additional Hoosiers have been diagnosed with COVID-19 on Thursday. A total of 230,965 Indiana residents have tested positive for the coronavirus. To date, 1,876,317 individual tests have been reported to ISDH at a 12.3% positive rate and 51 new deaths were reported for a total of 4,563 Hoosiers have died across the state.

Dearborn County has a total of 1,487 cases and 29 deaths reported (up 57 new cases), Decatur County has a total of 922 positive cases and 40 deaths (up 74 new cases and 1 new death), Franklin County has 500 positive cases and 25 deaths (up 12 new cases), and Ripley County has 762 positive cases and 12 deaths (up 59 new cases). Locally, this is an increase of 202 new positive cases and 1 new death.
