State reaches new record for single day COVID-19 cases

Statewide — The State hit another record for the highest daily total of positive results across the state since the start of the pandemic.

The Indiana State Department of Health has reported that 5,156 additional Hoosiers have been diagnosed with COVID-19 on Wednesday. A total of 224,374 Indiana residents have tested positive for the coronavirus. To date, 1,853,700 individual tests have been reported to ISDH at an 12.1% positive rate and 31 new deaths were reported for a total of 4,512 Hoosiers have died across the state.

Dearborn County has a total of 1,430 cases and 29 deaths reported (up 24 new cases), Decatur County has a total of 848 positive cases and 39 deaths (up 24 new cases), Franklin County has 488 positive cases and 25 deaths (up 13 new cases), and Ripley County has 762 positive cases and 12 deaths (up 22 new cases). Locally, this is an increase of 83 new positive cases.
