Community Sessions About Drugs This Week

A community session about drugs and alcohol will be held in Versailles and Lawrenceburg this week.

Dearborn County Citizens Against Substance Abuse, the Ripley County LLC, One Community One Family and Indiana Youth institute have partnered together to bring Jermaine Galloway, renowned speaker on drug and alcohol education to the area.

Officer Galloway has been an Idaho law enforcement officer since 1997 and has more than 10 years’ experience in underage drinking and drug and alcohol enforcement.

He currently provides nationwide training to police officers, parents and educators and also spends much of his time speaking o youth on the harms of underage drinking, drug abuse and tobacco.

Galloway played Division One basketball, and received a BA from the University of San Francisco. Jermaine is currently an instructor at Northwest Nazarene University.

A community session will be held at Versailles Baptist Church from 6:30- 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday September 18. The cost is free but RSVP is required. Contact Becky at 877-967-6263 or [email protected]

A community session will be held at the Lawrenceburg Community Center from 5:30-7:30 p.m. on Thursday September 19. No cost to attend the event but RSVP is needed. Contact Donna or Ann Alyse at 812-532-3538 or [email protected]

Two professional training sessions for people who deal with youth while on the job will be held. On Thursday at the Versailles Baptist Church from 9:30-2:00 p.m. and lunch will be provided. The cost is free and RSVP is required. Contact Becky for reservation or more information.

The Lawrenceburg Firehouse on Tate Street is from 10:00-2:00 p.m. on Friday. Lunch will be provided. The cost is free but RSVP is required. Contact Donna or Ann Alyse.
