Napoleon, IN — Friday afternoon, the Napoleon Volunteer Fire Department was dispatched to the area of County Roads 300 West and 1050 North in Ripley County for a combine that was on fire in a soybean field.
Once the firefighters arrived on the scene, they found the machine was already too involved to be saved. Instead, the firefighters focused on keeping the fire from spreading into the standing crop and adjacent wooded areas.
There were no injuries reported from this fire, but the machine was considered a total loss.
