Georgia June Land, age 84 of Batesville, Indiana passed away on Wednesday, September 30, 2020 at The Waters of Batesville. The daughter of Ambrose and Janetta Gauck (nee: Daughtery) was born on October 2, 1935 in Batesville, Indiana.
In 1954 Georgia graduated from Batesville High School. She was a member of the St. Louis parish in Batesville. Georgia worked for Batesville Casket Company, installing the cap interiors until she retired, after 42 years of service
Georgia enjoyed doing some gardening over the years and later in life really liked watching the old TV shows. She was a strong-willed person but could be quite humorous and was never known to curse. She had a soft heart for animals especially cats.
She is survived by her daughter Cecile Mullinax; grandchildren, Anna Hillman (Tim), Dustin Puckett, Holly Taylor (Brandon), Michael Abrams (Kayla) and Jonathan Mullinax;14 great grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren; along with one sister, Connie Moody (Herbert).
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Joy Hankins and two infant siblings.
Visitation will be Sunday, October 4, 2020 from 5-7pm at Meyers Funeral Home in Batesville. Mass of Christian Burial will be Monday, 10:00am at St. Louis Catholic Church in Batesville. Masses may be given in her memory.
In accordance with the Indiana COVID-19 precautions, all attending should wear a mask and follow proper social distancing protocol. If you are not feeling well, or if you have compromised immune system, you are encouraged to stay home.
