Dillsboro, IN — A Madison Woman was arrested on Saturday, July 25 outside the Dollar General Store in Dillsboro with a large amount of Methamphetamine, a gun, digital scales, baggies, other drug paraphernalia, and over $1,000.00 in cash, according to Prosecutor Lynn Deddens.

Mary Ann Bennett, 50, was arrested on July 25, after a Dearborn County Sheriff’s deputy was dispatched to the Dollar General Store to check on Bennett, who reportedly had been sleeping in a vehicle in the parking lot. Allegedly, a concerned citizen woke Bennett up and she was reported to be walking around the parking lot in a state of intoxication. A subsequent investigation by law enforcement alleges that they yielded over 60 grams of Methamphetamine, together with all the other materials necessary to distribute the drug.

Bennett is charged on allegations of Possession with Intent to Deliver Methamphetamine, Possession of Methamphetamine, Possession of a Narcotic Drug, related to Hydrocodone officers also found, Carrying a Handgun Without a License, and Possession of Paraphernalia. The charges are pending in Dearborn Circuit Court.

The arrest is the latest in a series of recent cases involving large amounts of Methamphetamine, Deddens said.
