Survivors coming home after long battle

All too often it is easy to get lost in the numbers of those diagnosed with COVID-19 each day, but today we celebrate the survivors from the virus.

On Tuesday, Batesville resident Frank Clark was released from The Christ Hospital after a 130-day battle of COVID-19 in their hospital system.  Frank and his wife Martie were both admitted in April with the virus.  Marti was able to go home in May.  To celebrate, Frank’s care team organized a “Survivor Stroll” to cheer him on and say farewell where he was also able to reunite with his wife.

Recently Kat Smart, and employee at Decatur County Memorial Hospital also got to celebrate with a sendoff from her fellow co-workers after a 98-day battle in the hospital with COVID-19.
