Gerald “Gabby” Tichenor, 72, of Greensburg passed away on June 24, 2020. He was born on May 14, 1948 in Decatur County the son of Monford and Mary Tichenor. Gabby went to Greensburg High School. He served in the United States Marine Corp. On February 14, 1970 he married Brenda Hogsten and together they raised two sons Brian and Mark. Gabby worked at Bohn Aluminum and Gecom and retired in June of 2013.
Survivors include: Wife, Brenda Tichenor; Sons, Brian (Kim) Tichenor and Mark (Mark Bradley) Tichenor; Siblings, James (Judy) Tichenor and Kay (Robert) Baylis; and many Brother and Sister in Laws, Nieces and Nephews. Gabby was preceded in death by his Parents, Mary and Monford Tichenor; Brothers, Louis Tichenor, Dale Tichenor and Nathan Tichenor; Mother in Law, Beyreda Hogsten Dickerson; and Father in Law, Ernest Hogsten.
A visitation for family and friends will be held on Sunday, June 28, 2020 from 3:00 pm until 6:00 pm, with a visitation for those who are immunocompromised from 2:00-3:00 pm at the Gilliland-Howe Funeral Home. The family has asked that you please bring and wear a mask at all times while inside the building and to please follow the CDC recommendation of safe distancing. A Facebook Live Funeral will be held on Monday, June 29, 2020 at 11:00 am. Rev. Dawn Barnes will be officiating. Burial will be at South Park Cemetery.
