Indiana Governor Eric Holcomb has ordered all K-12 schools in Indiana closed for the remainder of the 2019-2020 school year. The order includes all public as well as private schools.
State Schools Superintendent Dr. Jennifer McCormick made the announcement as part of Governor Holcomb’s Thursday afternoon media briefing, adding that schools must switch to remote learning. According to McCormick, seniors who have adequate credits, including those for classes in which they’re currently enrolled, will graduate on time. For other students, requirements to advance to the next grade remain unchanged.
Indiana now has over three thousand confirmed COVID-19 cases, and there have been seventy-eight deaths attributed to the virus.
