Lawrenceburg, IN—On Sunday evening the Lawrenceburg Police Department responded to 515 River Drive for a complaint of gunshots. The caller stated that she believed someone had fired a gun and the bullet came through the wall of her apartment. At the time, the caller’s apartment was occupied by her boyfriend and her 4-year-old child. The boyfriend went outside to see what was going on and heard what he believed to be additional shots coming from 513 River Drive.
Officers from multiple area law enforcement agencies responded to the call. Upon arrival, the male occupant of 513 River Drive pointed a firearm at the responding officers. The remaining building occupants were evacuated safely, and no injuries were reported. The male was identified as Brandon McKnight, 37. Lawrenceburg Police were able to initiate verbal contact with McKnight who eventually agreed to leave the apartment, where he was taken into custody. McKnight was transported to Highpoint Health, where he is currently receiving medical treatment.
