Milan, IN— INDOT contractor Force Construction will begin tree clearing operations today at the S.R. 101 bridge over South Hogan Creek ahead of a $917,700 bridge deck replacement project. The bridge is located 2.21 miles north of U.S. 50 in Ripley County.
Intermittent lane closures will be possible while work is in progress. Flaggers will be on-site to manage traffic. Utility relocation work will follow tree clearing, with the deck replacement beginning in late March or early April. At that time, S.R. 101 will close for approximately 90 days. The official detour will follow U.S. 50 to S.R. 129 to S.R. 350.
Motorists should slow down, use extra caution and drive distraction-free through all work zones. The contract completion date is September 30, 2020.
