Heavy rains likely in the area

Southeastern, IN—The National Weather Service says that rain is expected to start around noon as the system moves through the state.  Meteorologists at the Indianapolis office say that less than an inch of snow or ice is possible in southeastern Indiana but rain showers are more likely.

As rain develops across southeast Indiana, Northern Kentucky and Southern Ohio, it will continue overnight and may be heavy at times this evening. Rainfall totals of 1 to 1.25 inches my lead to flooding of area creeks and streams and low lying areas. A flash flood watch has been issued for Southeast IN, Northern KY, and portions of Southern Ohio this afternoon and tonight. Be extra careful where high water is typically an issue, and as always, do not attempt to navigate flooded roadways.
