Paul V. Chase

Paul Vernon Chase, 96, of Aurora, Indiana, passed away Monday November 25, 2019 in Lawrenceburg, Indiana.

He was born February 4, 1923 in Ohio County, IN, son of the late George Washington Chase and Edith (Peters) Chase.
He served his country as a member of the United States Air Force during WWII. He entered in 1942 and served until 1946. After leaving the United States Air Force in 1946, Paul used his GI bill to go to school for refrigeration. He graduated as an engineer. Paul was proud of his service, and was more than willing to return to service when he was called back after completing his schooling. He was sent back to Europe for another year, where he worked on heating and refrigeration systems on bases throughout France.

He worked as a laborer and supervisor for Thatcher Glass, retiring after over 19 years of service.

He was a member of Holman Christian Union Church and the American Legion in Aurora.

Paul enjoyed farming, hunting, and fishing. He raised boxer dogs, and ferrets. Paul graduated from Rising Sun High School. He was a pitcher in high school, and he pitched a no-hitter his senior year.

Paul is survived by step-children, Jackie Greive of Aurora, IN, Frederick “Ric” Nelson; nieces, Irma Jean Thies, Connie New and Brenda Sheldon; nephews, Bob Chase, Dave Chase, Ron Milam; friend, Henry Wallace.

He was preceded in death by his parents; Wife, Edna Kay Chase, Daughter, Patty Chase, step daughter, Geraldine Goodpaster, siblings, George Chase, Catherine Thies, and nephew, Hargis Wayne Milam.

Friends will be received Monday, December 2, 2019, 5:00 pm – 7:00 pm at the Rullman Hunger Funeral Home, 219 Mechanic Street, Aurora, Indiana.

Services will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday at 11:00 am.

Interment will follow in the River View Cemetery, Aurora, Indiana. Military graveside services will be conducted by members of local Veterans Service Organizations.
