Bulldogs Victorious Over Cougars

The BMS 7th Grade team improved to 3-0 with a 53-6 victory over South Decatur. At the half, Batesville was up an impressive 37-0.  The bulldogs were quite literally bulldogs on defense. Tallying a tremendous amount of steals, and forcing the opponent into turnover after turnover. Batesville was led in scoring by Cade Kaiser and Jacob Stenger with 14 points apiece. 8 points for Gage Pohlman. 5 points for JJ Holcomb. 4 points apiece for Will Jaisle and Jake Chapman. 2 points for John Meyer and Grant Goldsmith. The Dogs are back in action Monday.    

The 8th graders also moved to 3-0 with a 58-38 win over South Decatur. The Bulldogs had a 12-7 lead after the first quarter. Batesville created separation with a couple of threes and went ahead 29-10 at the half. The 8th graders fought hard on defense and outrebounded their opponent to pull away in this game. Jack Grunkemeyer led the Bulldogs in scoring with 12 points, followed by Carter Bohman (11), Sam Johnson (10), Conner Drake (9), Chris Lewis (7), Gus Prickel (5), Eli Loichinger (2), and Emi Lopez (2). Batesville hopes to continue their early success as they head to Franklin County on Monday.
