Mary Ellen Thompson, 73, of Osgood passed away Sunday, October 27, 2019 at Manderley Health Care Center in Osgood. Mary was born Thursday, August 1, 1946 in Batesville, Indiana, the daughter of the late Theodore and Dorothy (Gillian) Hosmer. She married Lloyd Thompson October 3, 1983 and he survives. Mary was a homemaker and former member of Delaware Methodist Church. Her hobbies included: collecting items at yard sales, gardening, canning, fishing and she loved dogs.
Mary is survived by her husband Calvin of Osgood; son Gary Hosmer of Louisville, Kentucky; brothers: Bill of Delaware, Butch of Osgood, Kenneth of Milan, Don of Falmouth, Kentucky and Harley “Sonny” of Owensboro, Kentucky; sister Sue Peck of Osgood; two grandchildren, seven great grandchildren and mother-in-lawMarie Thompson. She was preceded in death by her parents and four sisters.
A service celebrating her life will be held 11 AM Wednesday, October 30 at Sibbett-Moore Funeral Home in Moores Hill with Pastor Tommy Beatley officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Hill Cemetery in Moores Hill. Family and friends may gather to share and remember her 10 – 11 AM Wednesday also at the funeral home.
