Butlerville, IN—Jennings County sheriff deputies were on the scene investigating a personal injury crash in Butlerville around 5 am this morning, involving a semi that left the roadway and drove through the old Campbell Township Firehouse. The building was unoccupied at the time of the crash. The accident took out the east communications repeater that was housed in one of the destroyed buildings.
The semi missed an emergency siren tower and the 200-foot communications tower by just 6 feet. It traveled through both buildings and came to rest behind the Butlerville Post Office. Plans are in motion to deploy a temporary communications repeater to this area. Please caution if driving through Butlerville and watch for a lot of traffic around the crash site today.
