Mark A. Holland, 64, of Versailles passed away at 12:15pm, Sunday, September 1, 2019 at his home. He was born in Milan on June 27, 1955 the son of Houston and Dolly Gordon Holland. He was married to Janet Thompson on July 14, 1979 and his wife of 40 years survives. Other survivors include one daughter Ashley (Bryan) Redick of Cross Plains; 2 grandsons Branch and Sawyer Redick; four brothers Mike (Debbie) Holland of Dillsboro, Steve (Kathie) Holland of Bay City, Texas, Randal (Kathy) Holland of Canaan, and Tim Holland of Madison; one sister Joyce (Larry) Enzinger of Batesville; also special friends John and Ellen Thornton and Ralph and Faith Ann Wood all of Versailles, and Uncle Tommy Gordon of Dillsboro. He was preceded in death by his parents. Mr. Holland became a self employed truck driver at the age of 18 and in 1990 he and Janet founded Holland Financial in Versailles. The pride and joy of Mark’s life were his grandsons and the time he got to spend with them. He also enjoyed working outside on his farm and was very proud and “protective” of his tractor. Mark was a member of the Cincinnati Church of God and attended the North Vernon Seventh Day Adventist Church. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, September 5th at 1pm at the Stratton-Karsteter Funeral Home in Versailles with Pastor Jim O’Brien and Pastor Harvey Kornegay officiating. Burial will be in the Oakdale Cemetery in Dillsboro. Visitation will be on Wednesday from 5pm to 8pm. Memorials may be given to the Cincinnati Church of God or the North Vernon Seventh Day Adventist Church in care of the funeral home.
