#10 ranked OA defeated #11 ranked Cardinal Ritter 5-0 in girls soccer on Saturday afternoon.

Monday 8-19-19. OA JV vs Lawrenceburg. L 6-0.
OA had 2 shots with 1 on goal, 2 off sides 1 foul and 1 corner. Sam McFee had 4 saves and Aiden Geers had 1 save. Lawrenceburg hat 19 shots with 11 on goal, 6 off sides, 2 fouls and 6 corners. Their keeper had 0 saves.
First game of the year and it was a hot one. Even game for the first 15 plus minutes and then the wheels fell off for OA. As we got scored on 5 times in the next 15 minutes. The coaching staff will take some of the blame as we probably should have subbed earlier than we did. But the players have to be in better shape we have been preaching this for 3 months. Second half went much better. As we held them to 1 goal.
Thursday 8-22-19. OA JV vs Shelbyville. L 0-2.
OA had 10 shots with 3 on goal, 5 fouls, 2 corners and our keepers had 0 saves. Shelbyville had 5 shots with 2 on goal, 1 foul, 3 corners, and their keepers had 3 saves.
Much cooler on this night and we played much better as a team. We out shot Shelbyville 10-5 but couldn’t find the back of the net. We saw some improvement from the first game. I thought in the first game we had players trying to do to much this game we trusted our teammates to do their job and it showed as we controlled the game.
OA Varsity vs Shelbyville. T 1-1.
OA welcomed an old time foe back on the schedule it has been 10 years since we last played Shelbyville. It was a tough game as the defense on both teams were excellent on the night. Not a lot of offense. OA got on the board early as Huber scored yes our center full back. The ball was played into the box and Huber was in the place at the right time and gave OA the lead which they held most of the night. Shelbyville had no quit in them as they seemed to up their game the second half. We had a breakdown on defense and Shelbyville took advantage and put a shot in the upper left corner that Chris could not get. Our left full back didn’t contain and the our left defensive mid did not pick up his mark which led to an open shot. Chris Hautman played a great game as he had 5 saves on the night and 2 of them were huge Hugh. One was a leg stop in the second half that he laid out for. Blake Borgman playing in a new position this year at defensive mid had a good game also as he helped to control the middle for all but the one goal they scored. It is nice to get this first game in the books. Temperature 78 degrees wind speed 0.
OA had 7 shots with 4 on goal. Adam Aaron Huber scored in period 1 at 18:21 on a restart rebound in the 6. The assist for this goal is still in question, to be determined tonight at practice. OA had 10 fouls, 7 corners and Chris had 5 saves.
Shelbyville had 16 shots with 6 on goal, 7 fouls, 3 corners and their keeper had 3 saves. Shelbyville scored in period 2 at 4:30 on a shot from the top right of the 18.
