Paul Haden Sharpe, 88, of Dillsboro passed away Saturday, July 20, 2019 at The Waters of Dillsboro Ross Manor. Paul was born Friday, May 29, 1931 in Richmond Virginia, the son of Ellis Luther and Hattie Mae (Sims) Sharpe. He was a former member of Budford Baptist Church in Virginia and was a self-employed carpenter. He was a member of the Rod and Gun Club in Crittenden, Kentucky, and enjoyed deer hunting, cooking, bluegrass festivals. He also loved his own planes.
Paul is survived by sons: Dean (Tracy) Sharpe of Loveland, Ohio and Dwain Sharpe of Cincinnati, Ohio; daughters: Debbie (Danny) Holbrook of Mount Orb, Ohio and Lisa (John) Sladeck of Dillsboro; mother of his children Helen Sharpe; 4 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter Joni Sharpe, 3 brothers and 4 sisters.
A service celebrating his life will be held 12:00 PM Thursday, July 25 at Filter-DeVries-Moore Funeral Home in Dillsboro with Pastor Thomas Trammell officiating. Burial will follow in Oakdale Cemetery. Family and friends may gather to share and remember him 10 AM – 12 PM Thursday also at the funeral home. Memorials may be given in honor of Paul to the Parkinson Disease Foundation.
