Pursuit leads to multiple charges for both driver and passenger

Greensburg, IN—Late Wednesday evening, Greensburg Police observed a Silver Nissan Truck operating without headlights at the intersection of First and N. Lincoln Streets. The Officer attempted to get the driver’s attention to turn their headlights on, but after the driver failed to turn their lights on, the officer attempted to initiate a traffic stop.

The driver of the truck then immediately began to flee in the vehicle. During the pursuit, the driver disregarded several traffic control devices and stop signs in the attempt to lose officers.

This continued until they came to a stop at a dead end on Franklin Street. During the investigation, officers identified the driver as 40-year-old Rea Grider of Greensburg, In and the passenger as 27-year-old Ricky Joe Forwalt Jr. of Madison, In.

Grider was charged with Resisting Law Enforcement, Auto Theft, Possession of Syringe, Possession Of Methamphetamine, Possession of Controlled Substance, Theft,  and Driving with a Suspended License.  Forwalt Jr was charged with Out of County Warrant, Auto Theft, Identity Deception, and Possession of Meth.
