Irma Leora Stacy

Irma Leora Stacy, 102, of Milan, formerly of Moores Hill / Lawrenceburg passed away Friday, May 10, 2019 at Ripley Crossing in Milan.  Irma was born Friday, March 30, 1917 in Moores Hill, the daughter of Irvin and Lulu (Rumsey) Heller.  She married Joseph Stacy June 16, 1940 and he preceded her in death in 1981.  Irma was a member of the Moores Hill United Methodist Church, former Eastern Star member and worked at Old Quaker Distillery later know as Schenley.  During WWII she worked at Wrights Aircraft Factory later becoming General Electric and she worked for Dearborn County Hospital in the laundry department.  Irma enjoyed eating out at Frisch’s with her family, enjoyed a glass of wine, traveling and liked to collect china birds.

Irma is survived by son Tom (Becky) Stacy of Aurora and many nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, daughter Irma Jean Stacy; brothers: Elmer, Virgil, Floyd, Alton, and Alvin Heller; and sisters: Ethel Rawlins and Hilda Heller.

A service celebrating her life will be held 1 PM Tuesday, May 14, 2019 at Sibbett-Moore Funeral Home in Moores Hill with Pastor Ted Hamrick officiating.  Burial will follow in Forest Hill Cemetery.  Family and friends may gather to share and remember her 11 AM – 1 PM Tuesday, May 14 also at the funeral home. Memorials may be given in honor of Irma to Our Hospice of Jennings County; Moores Hill Methodist Church or Ripley Crossing Activity Fund.
