Metamora, In. — The Metamora Volunteer Fire Department has announced plans to build a new fire station. Franklin County commissioners have given their approval for the facility to be built at the former site of the Metamora School on Duck Creek Road.
The location is closer to U.S. 52 and will allow for more efficient response during events like Canal Days.
State officials are now reviewing the plans.
