Greensburg special education students launch ‘Excited Pirates’

Greensburg, In. — Greensburg Community High School special education class has established a breakfast beverage cart. The students are delivering tea, coffee and hot chocolate for .50 per cup to staff and faculty.

Teacher Marti Moorman says, “The business helps students be more involved in school, develop relationships with other students and learn potential job skills.”  Excited Pirates and More operates every Friday and all proceeds go towards inventory and special education class events in the future.

Moorman says the students analyze the financial performance in math class and use the information to modify the business plan. She says the financial analysis really motivates the students and inspires them to work hard and take pride in the concept and products.
