FCSO takes active shooter training to OA

Oldenburg, In. — Members of the Franklin County Sheriff’s Department recently provided Active Shooter training for the faculty and staff of the Oldenburg Academy.

School employees learned tips on how to prepare and proactively think in the event of an aggressive intruder or active shooter event.  As a part of the training, staff were given real-life scenarios and were provided information on how to better respond to potential threats.

“We were pleased to provide this training for the staff of the Oldenburg Academy,” said Franklin County Sheriff Peter Cates.  “We look forward to the continued partnership with the school and its staff to provide a safer environment for their students as they prepare for their future.” continued Sheriff Cates.

Deputies were assisted by Officers from the Oldenburg Police Department.  Deputies encourage citizens to report suspicious persons, activities, or circumstances to the Franklin County Sheriff’s Department at 765-647-4138.
