Jon B. Case, age 71 of Morris, died Tuesday, February 19, 2019 at Margaret Mary Health. Born March 28, 1947 in Phillipsburg, Kansas, he is the son of Arlene (Nee: Miller) and Ralph Case. He married Margarita Bedel October 7, 1978 at St. Anthony’s Church in Morris. A member of the church, Jon also belonged to the Morris Volunteer Fire Department.
A skilled woodworker, he made and repaired furniture. He was also an avid reader who enjoyed mysteries and westerns as well as working with Genealogy. His family indicated that Jon was one of those individuals that never knew a stranger. He would strike up a conversation with anyone and converse on most any subject. His family also shared that he was kind soul who was always willing to help others and was very active with the church’s Haiti ministry. Other interests included being a long time league bowler and gardening. His greatest joy was the birth of his first grandchild.
He is survived by his wife Margarita; daughters Erica Case of Morris, Valerie (Philip) Back of Batesville, Katie Case of Fairfield, Ohio and the apple of his eye, granddaughter Laura Back. In addition to his parents, he is also preceded in death by brothers Gary, Doug and Mike Case.
Visitation is Friday, February 22nd, from 4 – 7 p.m. at the Weigel Funeral Home with a rosary service at 4 p.m. Funeral services are 10 a.m. Saturday, February 23rd at St. Anthony’s Church with Rev. Shaun Whittington officiating, followed by burial in the church cemetery. The family requests memorials to the St. Anthony’s Haiti Ministry.
