Pearl Stewart, age 95, of Brookville, Indiana died Sunday, February 3, 2019 at her residence in Brookville.
Born July 23, 1923 in Franklin County she was one of three daughters born to the late John Henry & Belva (Nowlin) Bravard. She was a graduate of the former Brookville High School with the class of 1942. On August 2, 1944 she was united in marriage to Carol I. Stewart, and they were able to enjoy 71 years of marriage, until his passing on October 12, 2015.
Mrs. Stewart was retired, having worked as Secretary of the former Brookville Jr. High School for many years. She was a member of the Brookville United Methodist Church, the Order of Eastern Star Chapter #449, as well as the Tri Kappa. In her leisure time she enjoyed sewing & needlework, reading, gardening, but perhaps most of all she cherished time spent with her grandchildren.
Survivors include a daughter, Bridget Tarvin of Connersville, Indiana; a granddaughter, Stacey (Nicole Taylor) Tarvin of Indianapolis, Indiana; a grandson Nick (Katie) Tarvin of Westfield, Indiana, as well as three great-grandchildren, Samuel Tarvin, Kallan Tarvin & Emery Tarvin.
In addition to her parents and husband, Carol, she was preceded in death by her two sisters, Cora Halcomb & Irene Cockefair.
Family & friends may visit from 1 until 2:00 P.M. on Wednesday, February 6, 2019 at Phillips & Meyers Funeral Home, 1025 Franklin Avenue, Brookville.
Rick Alvey will officiate the Funeral Services on Wednesday, February 6, 2019, 2:00 P.M., at Phillips & Meyers Funeral Home. Burial will then follow in Maple Grove Cemetery in Brookville.
