Brookville, In. — The Franklin County Sheriff’s Department is proud to announce the graduation of Deputy Kyle M. Hartman from the 216th Session of the Indiana Law Enforcement Academy Basic Training Course. Deputy Hartman graduated from I.L.E.A on Friday January 18th.
The Indiana Law Enforcement Academy Basic Training Course consists of over 600 hours of training in all areas of Law Enforcement. This training provides students with working knowledge of criminal and traffic laws, firearms, emergency vehicle operations, physical tactics, EMS awareness and human behavior. Deputy Hartman also received extensive training in accident investigation, criminal investigation, domestic violence, and sexual assault, as well as other areas of basic law enforcement.
Deputy Hartman will now enter the final step in his training by successfully completing the Franklin County Sheriff’s Department Field Training Officer (F.T.O) program. This F.T.O. program consists of five months of on-the-job supervision/training. Completion of this program will allow Deputy Hartman to execute all law enforcement duties.
