After postponement and location change the Batesville high school wrestling team traveled to East Central to battle in the EIAC tournament. The bulldogs sent a season high 11 varsity wrestlers to compete in the tournament.
Alex Murphy had the highest finish for the team finishing 4th at 106 with two pin fall victories coming against opponents from Connersville and Rushville. Caleb Bischoff-Neise finished 5th at 126 receiving 2 forfeits. Tyler Schaeffer finished 6th at 132 with his lone victory coming by pin fall against Greensburg. Jonah Chase finished 5th picking up 2 wins one a pin fall over a Greensburg opponent and the other being a decision against a Connersville opponent. Vonley Hund made his varsity debut with a 6th place finish at 145 receiving a forfeit on the way. Josh Mobley finished 5th at 152 with 2 pin falls against opponents from Rushville and Connersville. Axel Garcia also finished 5th at 170 with 2 tech falls over the same Franklin County opponent.
Abram Garcia continued the trend with a 5th place finish at 195 with a forfeit and a decision against his Greensburg opponent. Brandon Manning rounded out the placers with a 6th place finish picking up a forfeit. Also competing was Jacob Weigel and Chase Hamilton. Batesville finished 7th as a team while East Central won the team Championship.
