Tom J. Niedenthal, of Brookville, was born on March 15, 1944 in Batesville, a son to Frank and Martha Meyer Niedenthal. He served his country during the Vietnam War Era with the United States Air Force. On April 23, 1971 he married Karen Brackney at St. Michael’s Church in Brookville. Tom worked at Risch Implement Company and later General Electric in Cincinnati. Together with Karen, he owned Four Seasons Florist in Brookville from 1990 through 2010. Tom was a member of St. Michael Catholic Church and a 4th Degree Knight with the Brookville Knights of Columbus. He was active with the Bernard Hurst, Brookville American Legion and performed graveside military honors for many years with their firing squad. Tom loved all sports but was especially fond of playing cards and golf. He also enjoyed gardening and rabbit hunting with his beloved beagles, Lizzy, Casi and Jax. On Sunday, December 23, 2018 at the age of 74, Tom passed away at Bayley in Cincinnati, Ohio
Those surviving who will cherish Tom’s memory include his wife of 47 years, Karen Niedenthal; daughter, Mandi (Devin) Bennett of Cincinnati; one sister, Diane Niedenthal of Fairfield, OH; one brother, Robert (Karen) Niedenthal of Oxford, OH; grandchildren, Gavin, Brooklyn, and Hailey; one niece, Jenifer Niedenthal of Chicago, IL; one nephew, Jonathan (Shannon) Niedenthal of Orlando, FL, and one great-niece, Kiera Mae Niedenthal. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Friends may visit with the family on Friday, December 28, 2018 from 5 until 8 p.m., beginning with Rosary at 4:30 at Cook Rosenberger Funeral Home, 929 Main Street, Brookville. Fr. Vincent Lampert will officiate a Mass of Christian burial on Saturday at 10 a.m. at St. Michael Church. Burial with full military honors provided by the Brookville American Legion, Bernard Hurst Post #77 will conclude services at St. Michael cemetery.
