The Seventh Grade Batesville Bulldogs Basketball team defeated St. Louis Tuesday night by a score of 55 to 38. After a slow first half, Batesville stayed strong in the second to bring home the win. Leading in scoring for Batesville was Jack Grunkemeyer with 14, followed closely by Conner Drake with 13, and Chris Lewis with 12. Also scoring were Gus Prickel with 9, Sam Johnson with 6, and rounding out the scoring was Chris Tillman with 1. The Seventh grade Dogs are now 8 and 3 on the season. The Cardinals 7th Graders fell to a very talented Batesville team 55 to 38 in front of a packed house at the Cross Town Shootout. The Cardinals started the 4th quarter down only 6 points before Batesville put the finishing touches on a very hard fought ball game. Hank Ritter led the cardinals with 18 points followed by Connor Miles with 15. Carson Meyer contributed 8 rebounds and 4 points. Marco Canessa contributed 4 rebounds. Evan Flaspohler had 1 point. The 8th Grade Bulldogs Boys Basketball team fell to 2-9 on the season after losing to St. Louis 61-36. The Cardinals got off to an early start leading at half 38-14. The Bulldogs kept fighting back the entire game and showed great effort in the second half. Batesville actually outscored St. Louis in the second half 24-23, but the initial margin was far too much to make the comeback. The Bulldogs were led offensively by Bryson Bonelli with 14 points, Jackson Renck (10), Max Baumer (5), Grant Peters (3), Trenton Kincade (2), and Cole Pride (2). The St Louis Cardinals 8th Grade Basketball team improved to 14-1 on the season tonight by defeating a tough Batesville Bulldogs team by a score of 61-36. The Cardinals will be back in action this Thursday night, December 20th, as they will be on the road facing the Sunman Dearborn Trojans with the 7th grade tipping off at 5:30 pm.
