Wildcat And Patriot Harriers Battle It Out

The Wildcat Girls Cross Country team put forth a great effort, but fell short by one point against Union County 27-28. Senior, Taylor Stewart, took the lead early, but was overtaken by Union County’s Vanessa West and Priscilla Kelly. Junior, Katelyn Meyer, then took the 3rd place spot for most of the race. By the end of the race, Taylor Stewart moved into 3rd place, and Katelyn Meyer ended in 4th place. Junior, Kairee Hodapp, claimed 5th place. Stewart had a season PR with a time of 23:52. Freshman, Katherine Apsley, had a PR, as well as juniors, Adrianna Squarcia and Roxana Moisil. Even though the Wildcat ladies did not take away the win, it was a great race.

The Wildcat Boys Cross Country team gave an impressive performance on the Union County cross country course winning 36-22. They ended the race with the 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th place spots. Sophomore, Drew Grant, took 2nd place. Junior, Kyle Seibert, took 3rd place. Tanner Lainhart, with a season PR of 20:34, tok 4th place. And, Freshman, Ben Maze took 5th place, with a personal best time of 20:49. This was the best showing for the boys as a whole team, with many team members achieving personal bests, including sophomores Matthew Kleier and Damian Sailor. Damian Sailor improved his time by almost 5 minutes from his last meet.
