The Lady Wildcats came out and played a beautiful first half with excellent ball control, good communication but just could not find the back of the net, taking 10 shots losing 1-0. Jessica Parker, Hannah Surber and Jaime Stortz were particularly successful with frustrating Centerville and letting the ball do the work.
Grace Noble returned from a leg injury and was a threat the entire game and drew two fouls to setup direct kicks outside the box, however, the Wildcats could not capitalize on them. Jordan Nichols was another threat that was hard to contain.
The second half of the game the Wildcats were fatigued and Claudia Mauntel had two marks to handle in the back. She was forced to make save which led to a foul. Centerville crossed the ball, Pearson made a save but the ball knocked around several people before landing in front of an unmarked player who tapped it in. The Wildcats struggled to keep possession and composure yet still continued to threaten the tie taking the final corner kick with 10 seconds left in the game but could not convert it.
Pearson was brilliant between the pipes with 8 more saves to add to her stats.
