Elizabeth Lee “Betty” Rumpke, age 86, of Cedar Grove, Indiana died Saturday, September 1, 2018 at the Brookville Healthcare Center in Brookville, Indiana.
Born June 20, 1932 in Georgetown, Ohio she was the daughter of the late Thomas Lloyd & Dorothy Helen (Schmitt) Shriver. She was a graduate of Mt. Healthy High School with the class of 1950.
On March 31, 1951 she was united in marriage to James Louis Rumpke, and he preceded her in death on August 29, 1974.
A homemaker, Betty was a longtime member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Harrison, Ohio. In her leisure time she enjoyed oil painting; and had taught classes in oil painting for over 30 years.
Survivors include a sister, Saramae Mains of Cincinnati, Ohio; as well as several nieces & nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, James, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Sarah Ann “Sally” Rumpke who died 12/14/2015, two sons, James F. Rumpke who died 3/17/1970 and David Lee Rumpke who died 8/31/1982.
Family & friends may visit from 10:00 A.M. until 11:00 A.M. on Thursday, September 6, 2018 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 509 Harrison Avenue, Harrison, Ohio.
Rev. Jeffrey M. Kemper, pastor of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, will officiate the Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 A.M. on Thursday, September 6, 2018 at the Church. Graveside committal services will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. on Thursday, September 6, 2018 at Gate of Heaven Catholic Cemetery, 11000 Montgomery Road, Cincinnati, Ohio 45249.
