The Batesville Lady Bulldogs posted their third consecutive 12 – 0 win to begin the 2018 season. On Thursday night, Batesville defeated the Greensburg Lady Pirates outshooting the Lady Pirates 42-1. Batesville took a 10 – 0 lead into the half with Georgia Gratz leading the way with 4 goals, Carlie Werner with 3 goals, Ashlyn Czerniak, Hailey Mohr, and Lauren Gutzwiller all scored in the first half. The defense recorded their 3rd straight shutout. Greensburg had 1 true scoring chance after a Batesville foul just outside the 18 yard box. The shot was headed towards the far post, when Batesville goalkeeper, Ellie Waechter made a great save to maintain the shutout.
In the second half, Gutzwiller added her second goal of the game with a shot from the left wing with 29 minutes to play in the game. The final tally came off a corner kick. Ashley Nobbe delivered a perfect cross into Chloe Saler who struck it out of the air into the back of the net. Batesville is back in action on Saturday as they travel to the Plainfield Invitational. The Lady Bulldogs will face Indianapolis Bishop Chatard in the opener beginning at 1:00 PM.
