Batesville hosted the highly competitive 8 team track conference meet last night on what was a beautiful evening. Despite the Bulldogs having 28 different personal bests recorded last night, the competition proved to be too much as the girls placed 4th overall and the boys 5th. The East Central Trojans were crowned team champions for both the girls and the boys. The EC girls scored an impressive 179 point, almost doubling the runner up team, the Franklin County Wildcats with 93 points, just edging Greensburg by 1 at 92 points. Then Batesville was 4th with 80 points, followed by Rushville, 63, South Dearborn, 54, Connersville, 37 and Lawrenceburg with 25. On the boys side, East Central put up 125 points to Franklin County’s 116. Rushville came in third with 101 followed by Lawrenceburg with 84, then Batesville, 70, South Dearborn 45 followed closely by Connersville with 42 and Greensburg came in 8th with 39 points.
