- Bulldogs takes down Franklin Central with early lead (5.1.18)
- Despite allowing three runs in the fifth inning, the Bulldogs defeated Franklin Central 7-3 on Tuesday. Franklin Central scored its runs on a home run by Ethan McDaniel.
- The Bulldogs started off early, as they got things moving in the first inning. The Bulldogs cored one run when Sam Voegele singled, and then put on one more to lead 2-0 after the first inning and did not look back.
- Caleb Raab took the win for the Bulldogs. He allowed eight hits and three runs over seven innings, striking out four and walking zero.
- Brody Sommers took the loss for Franklin Central. He surrendered five runs on six hits over four and two-thirds innings, striking out three.
- Quinn Werner led the Bulldogs with two hits in three at bats. One of his hits was a two run home run in the sixth inning. His first home run of the year.
- The win puts the Bulldogs at 9-9 for the season. The Bulldogs continue their EIAC schedule on Thursday when they compete against Lawrenceburg.
- Bulldogs Can’t Catch Up To Lawrenceburg (4.30.18)
- The Batesville Bulldogs watched the game slip away early and couldn’t recover in a 6-3 loss to Lawrenceburg on Monday. Lawrenceburg scored on a error in the first inning and a groundout by Ethan Weimer in the second inning, which scored two runs.
- Lawrenceburg scored three runs in the fourth inning. The Tigers’ offense in the inning was led by Eli Helton, Austin Weimer, and Peyton Hartman, who each had RBIs in the inning.
- Weimer was the winning pitcher for Lawrenceburg. He lasted seven innings, allowing five hits and three runs while striking out six and walking zero.
- Sam Voegele took the loss for Batesville. He surrendered three runs on zero hits over one and two-thirds innings.
- The Bulldogs collected five hits. Voegele and Caleb Raab all collected multiple hits for Batesville. Raab and Voegele each collected two hits to lead Batesville.
- With the loss, the Bulldogs fall under .500 at 8-9 and 3-6 in the EIAC.
