Clarissa Mary Catherine Striecker, age 90 of Batesville, died Sunday April 29, 2018, at Copeland Oaks in Sebring, Ohio. Born March 26, 1928, in Franklin County Indiana, she is the daughter of Alvina (Nee: Schrank) and Joseph Weber. She married Arthur Striecker April 23, 1949, at Holy Family Church in Oldenburg and he preceded her in death April 17, 2008. Clarissa was a homemaker and up until retirement worked as a furniture refinisher at Romweber’s Furniture.
Clarissa was an excellent baker and remarkable seamstress and shared these talents with her daughters. Special occasions always included multiple desserts and the great food! She enjoyed crossword puzzles, crocheting, gardening and was so proud of her flowers.
She is the beloved mother of daughters Evelyn (Bob) Farr, Donna (Ron) Purdy, Lucy (Neal) Broughton; dear sister to 12 younger brothers and sisters along with eight grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. In addition to her husband and parents, she is also preceded in death by two sisters and one brother.
Visitation is Friday, May 4th, from 10-11 a.m. at the Weigel Funeral Home. Funeral services follow at 11:30 a.m. at St. Louis Church with Rev. Stan Pondo officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The family requests memorials to Batesville Fire Department or the Batesville V.F.W. Post #3183.
