Wildcats Clinch Lead In Fifth Inning For Victory Over Tigers

Franklin County (3-0; 1-0 EIAC) defeated Lawrenceburg (0-1; 0-1 EIAC) 4-3 on Monday picking up their first EIAC victory after taking the lead late in the game. The game was tied at three with Franklin County Wildcats batting in the bottom of the fifth when Maggie Wendel singled on a 1-1 count, scoring one run.

Franklin County Wildcats got things moving in the first inning, when Kamryn McCool tripled on a 2-1 count, scoring one run.

Kendall McCool was credited with the victory for Franklin County Wildcats Varsity. She went seven innings, allowing three runs on nine hits, striking out four and walking one.

Mckenzie Meyer took the loss for Lawrenceburg. She went six innings, allowing four runs on seven hits, striking out five and walking one.

Franklin County Wildcats Varsity collected seven hits on the day. McCool and Camryn Brewer all managed multiple hits for Franklin County Wildcats Varsity. Brewer and McCool each collected two hits to lead Franklin County Wildcats Varsity. Franklin County Wildcats Varsity was sure-handed in the field and only committed one error. Brewer had the most chances in the field with eight.

Lawrenceburg tallied nine hits on the day. Meyer, Nicole McCool, and Abby Person all collected multiple hits for Lawrenceburg. Meyer led Lawrenceburg with three hits in four at bats.
