St. Leon, In. — A Saturday afternoon crash on I-74 claimed the life of a Hamilton, Ohio man according to the Indiana State Police.
Police say around 4:40 p.m. a vehicle driven by Hannah May of Okeana, Ohio, was westbound on I-74 Near St. Leon when she lost control, drove off the roadway and rolled.
A backseat passenger, Kevin Gutzwiller, 33, of Hamilton, Ohio, became trapped under the vehicle and died of his injuries. A front seat passenger, Alyssa Tucker, 22, was transported to University of Cincinnati Hospital with critical injuries. Another backseat passenger, Johnathan Kirshuck, 5, son of Tucker, was treated for non life-threatening injuries at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital. May was treated for minor injuries.
Investigators believe May was driving too fast for the conditions and the occupants were not wearing seatbelts.
