Mrs. La’Tesa Jean “Tesa” (Butler) Gladden, age 53, of Del City, Oklahoma, entered this life on March 22, 1964, at the Cannon Air Force Base, Clovis, New Mexico. She was the loving daughter of the late, Robert Charles and Barbara Jean (Northcutt) Butler. She attended grade school in Cincinnati, Ohio and Switzerland County Middle and High School in Vevay, Indiana. Tesa moved to Oklahoma and attended Del City High School in Del City, Oklahoma and earned her GED in 1990. Tesa was united in marriage on August 7, 1989, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, to Joe Lynn Gladden. They shared nearly 29 years of marriage together until her death. Tesa was baptized at Crestview Baptist Church in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma on July 22, 1991. Tesa was a wonderful homemaker and loved to bake, especially anything sweet! She also enjoyed creating gingerbread houses, being in the swimming pool and getting some natural Vitamin D, spending time with her friends and family, and spending time playing and loving on her dogs, Sadie and Jasmine. Tesa passed away at 3:05 p.m., Tuesday, March 20, 2018, at her residence in Del City, Oklahoma.
Tesa is survived by her loving husband, Joe Lynn Gladden of Del City, Oklahoma; her step-mother, Myrtle Chandler Butler of Fairview, Indiana; her sisters, Faith Butler Satchwell and her husband: Shawn of Independence, KY and Meredith (Butler) Coker of Florence, KY; her brothers, Shan Butler and his wife: Eula of Bennington, IN, Trevor Butler and his wife: Valerie of Bedford, KY and Kendall Chandler and his wife: Theresa of Bennington, IN and her several nieces, nephews and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert Charles and Barbara Jean (Northcutt) Butler; her brother, Bryant W. Butler; her sisters, Tracy Lynn York and Jatona (Butler) Wade and her paternal-grandparents, Robert F. and Loretta Butler.
Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, March 28, 2018, at 11:00 am, by Bro. Hobert Byrd, at the Haskell & Morrison Funeral Home, 208 Ferry Street Vevay, Indiana 47043.
Interment will follow in the Lee Cemetery, Fairview, Indiana.
