Laurel woman arrested for theft in Greensburg

Greensburg, In. — A Laurel woman has been arrested for theft by an-off-duty Greensburg police officer.

On Sunday police responded to a report of a theft at the Walmart. An off-duty officer intercepted and stopped a car matching the description on northbound State Road 3 near County Road 300 North driven by Erin Watson, 29.

During a consented search, police the stolen items in Watson’s purse and arrested her at the scene. Additionally, Watson admitted to a prior theft conviction.

In June of 2016, Watson was treated for an overdose at Margaret Mary Health in Batesville and arrested for possession of a hypodermic needle.
