Batesville, In. — The Batesville Area Chamber of Commerce, city leaders and guests cut the ribbon at Izzy’s at Hillcrest Tuesday afternoon.
The establishment at State Roads 46 & 229 will be open from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday through Friday and 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. Dinner hours are expected to be announced soon.
Co-owner Adam Israel says customers will recognize the same courteous staff and service. He says he wanted the atmosphere to be more comfortable and inviting and he thinks they accomplished that.
The menu is largely the same, with fresh options and favorites. The dinner menu will include up to three different types of steak, pork chops and chicken.
The following is a list of acknowledgements from the owners, Adam Israel and Bill Gardner:
In our journey to open Izzy’s we were extremely blessed to have had the help of so many outstanding local businesses, friends and family members. These people were willing to help fulfill a very aggressive opening date and put in a TON of hours to help make this space what it is today. For all their hard work we will always owe a debt of gratitude to these people and businesses:
Brian Rennekamp and the entire staff at THE VILLAGE WORKSHOP, Oldenburg, IN. They are responsible for the amazing design and build of both bars. This team was a pleasure to work with and the craftsmanship they have displayed speaks for itself. They exceeded every expectation we could have ever dreamed of!
Suzanne Straub of STRAUB INTERIORS, Osgood, IN. From day one Suzanne took our very blurry vision and a few loose thoughts and designed the one of a kind atmosphere that you see today. She painted, stained, built, hammered, sanded, sawed, hung, upholstered, and decorated at all hours! Her attention to detail is second to none. She was our go-to for all things décor and we think she “nailed it!”
Kevin Clegg and Kyle Chessler of RELIABLE CONNECTIONS, Batesville, IN. These two were responsible for just about all things audio and visual. They worked tirelessly running wires, tuning speakers, hanging speakers and keeping all our technology in line!
Tim Pohlman, Nathan Pohlman and Rick Enneking of POHLMAN FLOORING, Batesville, IN. Throughout the entire restaurant, carpet was taken out and replaced with the current beautiful wood flooring. These guys dropped everything when we asked and worked around everyone else’s schedule to get the job done!
Claire Macyauski of HANDMADE BY CLAIRE MACYAUSKI, Greensburg, IN. Claire has designed and built all the unique and handcrafted artwork that is displayed throughout the restaurant. She went above and beyond and worked overtime to bring our ideas to life through art!
John Weber of PRO-PRINTS, Batesville, IN. John designed our Izzy’s at Hillcrest Logo and he and his staff designed and fabricated all of the signage for our restaurant.

Last, but certainly not least, thanks to all of our family, friends, and staff, and a special thanks to our parents and spouses. There were countless people that stopped by to lend a helping hand at any number of random jobs. We could fill up an entire page of names, but you know who are. For your helping hands and constant support we are beyond grateful and could not have accomplished this without you!
