Ena Faye Lakes, 84, of Brookville, died Thursday, December 14, 2017, at Brookville Healthcare Center.
Faye was born in Lee County, Kentucky on March 31, 1933 to Curtis Hogan, Sr. and Carlie Johnson. She married Virgil D. Lakes on July 28, 1949 in New Port, Kentucky. Faye was a homemaker and loved cooking, gardening, and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She loved listening to Blue Grass music and attending Blue Grass festivals with her husband. Faye was a member of Emanuel Baptist Church in Brookville.
Faye is survived by three daughters and their spouses: Jean Tinch and Paul of Everton, Ruth Ann Reuss and Ted of Brookville, and Pam Lakes and special friend Kenny Frisby of Franklin, Ohio; 6 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; 2 great, great-grandchildren; three sisters, Shirley and Larry McKinley of Marietta, GA, Norma and Steve Smitley of Richmond, and Judy Biltz of Richmond; two brothers, Curtis Hogan, Jr. and Judy Scott of Brookville, and Jim Hogan and Jane Montgomery of Indianapolis; a sister-in-law, Nancy Hogan of Brookville and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Virgil, who died on March 9, 2009, and sisters and brothers, Louise Patton, Joe Hogan, John Hogan and Ruth Hogan.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, December 19, 2017 at Cook Rosenberger Funeral Home, 929 Main Street Brookville, with Rev. Paul Gentry officiating. Interment will follow in Everton Community Cemetery. Friends may visit at the funeral home Monday evening from 4 to 8 p.m. where memorial contributions may be made to the Jonathan Tinch Memorial Endowment Fund at FCCF.
