Mr. Raymond C. Park, age 76, of Florence, Indiana, entered this life on May 5, 1941, in Gary, Indiana, the loving son of the late, John Simon and Thelma M. (Bliss) Park. He was raised in Pekin, Illinois where he attended high school. Raymond was united in marriage on April 19, 1980, in Nashville, Tennessee, to Dorothy May Roland. Raymond and Dorothy shared over 37 years of marriage together until his death. He was a former employee for Ag & Mag Fertilizer in Madison, Indiana, for 15 years. Raymond was employed as a truck driver for overnight transportation and UPS, retiring in 2007, after 27 years of service. Raymond moved back to the Switzerland County community in the 1980’s, where he resided until his passing. Raymond enjoyed fishing, keeping a meticulous lawn, his roses, his barn where he enjoyed tinkering, grilling out, Sunday football, drag racing, mud runs and his Ford truck. Raymond will be deeply missed by his faithful companion, Maggie, his family and his friends. Raymond passed away surrounded by his family at 5:30 pm, Friday, December 1, 2017, at his farm in Florence, Indiana.
Raymond will be deeply missed by his loving wife of over 37 years, Dorothy M. (Roland) Roland Park of Florence, IN; his daughters, Helen Wainscott of Vevay, IN, Deanna Dolby and her husband: Chris of Sanders, KY, Kathy Wyatt and her husband: Stan of Liberty, KY and Loraine Brown of Vevay, IN; his grandchildren, Jeremy Springer and his companion: Vanessa, Amanda Dunavent and her husband: Chad, and Samantha Downey and her husband: Steve; his great-grandchildren, Kyndal, Izzy, Maddie, Dolan and Hunter; his brother, Larry Park and his wife: Linda of Gary, IN; his sisters, Joyce Croft of Marion, KY and Karen Willoughby and her husband: Willard of Manito, IL; his several nieces and nephews and his grand puppies, Bentley and Truman.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John Simon and Thelma M. (Bliss) Park; his son-in-law: William “Bill” Wainscott, died December 25, 2009; his brothers, Robert, John, Ivan, Lowell, Marvin and Don Park and his sister, Norma Jean Smith.
Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, December 6, 2017, at 1:00 pm, by Rev. Joe Kendall at the Haskell & Morrison Funeral Home, 208 Ferry Street Vevay, Indiana 47043.
Interment will follow in the Vevay Cemetery, Vevay, Indiana.
