Bulldogs Fall To Eagles In Close Middle School Hoops

The 7th Grade Batesville Bulldogs basketball team lost a close one to the Jac Cen Del Eagles by a score of 38-33 in overtime.

The Dogs came back from a 17-4 half time deficit.  They were able to tie it up at 30 all in regulation, but missed out on some scoring opportunities in overtime to take the loss.

Leading in scoring for Batesville was Lyle Oesterling with 13 points, followed by Bryson Bonelli with 7, and Cole Pride with 6.  Rounding out the scoring were Willie Sherwood with 4, Landon Harrison with 2, and Max Baumer with 1.

The 7th grade Dogs are now 0-2 on the season.

The 8th Grade Bulldogs fell to a solid Jac-Cen-Del squad 45-41.

After falling behind early the Dogs rallied back, but couldn’t quite close the deal. The Bulldogs were led in scoring by Eli Pierson with 15, Cole Werner with 8, and Ian Powers with 7. Travis Lecher added 5. Ean Loichinger, Zach Wade ,and Cooper Wilhelm contributed 3, 2, and 1 respectively to round out the scoring.

The Bulldogs are back in action Thursday against South Decatur. Come out and support you BMS middle school teams. Tip at 5:30.
