Geneva Covington Gutman, of Aurora, formerly of Dillsboro, IN Indiana, passed away October 28, 2017 in Milan, Indiana.
She was born June 30, 1927 in Anderson, IN, daughter of the late Paul Covington and Eva McClellan Covington
She worked for Seagram’s Distillery, retiring after over 40 years of service. Geneva was very patriotic. She made sure that everyone around her knew how blessed we are for the freedoms that we have in our country. She was a 20 year member of the Aurora VFW Auxiliary and served as the Patriotic Instructor for several years, as well as, other positions during those years. She was also a member of the Aurora Eagles and Aurora American Legion Auxiliary for many years. Geneva loved to cook and bake. She was known for her cakes and macaroni and cheese. She loved to dance, had a Native American Indian collection and an Angel collection. She loved being around people and was known for her infectious smile and kindness to others. Her favorite time was spent with family. Her children were her world to her. Geneva will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
Surviving are children, Angela Wilson of Lawrenceburg, IN, Tanya (Todd) Daciuk of Cincinnati, OH, David Michael Gutman of Cincinnati, OH and Daughter In law, Betty (late, Jeff) Cosby of Rising Sun, IN; Brother, Donnie (Pansy) Covington of Vevay, IN; grandchildren, Rhonda Vinup, Renee Shoults, Jason Wilson, Tiffany Bergeron, Shante Mock, Michael Bohan, Matthew Bohan, Jenna Bohan, Breanna Bohan, Jeremy Cain, Jordan Cain & Kali Cain; 19 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by Father, Paul Covington, Mother, Eva Covington, Brother, Paul Covington, sisters, Thelma Gutman, and Wilma Gridley; son Jeffrey Jerome Cosby.
Friends will be received Wednesday, November 1, 2017, 5:00 pm – 8:00 pm at the Rullman Hunger Funeral Home, 219 Mechanic Street, Aurora, Indiana.
VFW Auxiliary Services will be held at 7:30 on Wednesday.
Services will be held at the Funeral Home,Thursday, at 11:00 am.
Interment will follow in the River View Cemetery, Aurora, Indiana.
