Monday night was Senior Night for the Pirates as they hosted the Connersville Lions and fell 6-1.
Before the game, the Pirates honored seniors Trevin White, Chase Springmeyer and David Santiago for all of their contributions to the Pirate soccer program over the years. The first half was a very defensive half for the Pirates, as their high intensity and marking in the middle of the field limited Connersville to 2 goals. While being down 2-0 for most of the half, the Pirates continued to attack and got several chances to score, with Joseph Pacilio leading the way for the Pirates.
The second half got off to a rough start with the Pirates allowing 3 goals within the first 20 minutes of the second half to push the score to 5-0. Though down, the Pirates weren’t out as senior David Santiago gave the home fans something to cheer about, scoring off of an assist from Nicholas Zapfe. The goal was David’s 3rd of the season. The Pirates continued to attack and get scoring chances throughout the second half. Joseph Pacilio finished with 6 shots on goal, Nicholas Zapfe had 2 shots on goal and David Santiago and Collin Springmeyer finished with 1 SOG a piece. The score ended 6-1 in favor of Connersville.
The Pirates would like to again thank the seniors and their families for all of their contributions to the program over the years.
